Executive Roundtable

Starting an AI-Powered Company: People First, AI as Your Superpower

AI has made it easier than ever to start something of your own. It has also made it harder to know where to begin. If you've had a business idea in the back of your mind, or you're just curious what building one looks like now, this session is for you. Join a small group of entrepreneurially curious professionals for an informal, hands-on Zoom session about starting a company with AI at the core.

We'll sit down with Gregg Spiridellis, who has built companies through every major tech wave, from viral videos on dial-up to streaming to generative AI. He'll share how he and his brother Evan are building their new studio today, and what AI changes about starting a company and what it doesn't. Bring your questions. He'll take them live.

Then you'll try it yourself. Using a simple prompt we'll share, you'll sketch the team for your own business idea: who you'd want beside you, and which roles AI agents could cover at the start. Then you'll meet a few other participants in small groups to compare notes. Expect to jump in. You'll share ideas, try AI on a real problem, and meet other people thinking about what's next.

Tuesday, November 17, 20269:00–10:00am PT (12:00–1:00pm ET)

What to bring: A laptop, your favorite AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar), and a problem you're curious to solve.

Gregg Spiridellis

CEO & Co-Founder, Spiridellis Bros. Studios · Co-Founder of JibJab and StoryBots

Gregg Spiridellis loves building products and companies that connect people and deliver joy. He co-founded JibJab with his brother Evan at the dawn of the consumer internet, when viral videos still played over dial-up, and led it as CEO.

In 2012, they moved into children's programming with StoryBots, which Gregg co-created and led as CEO. It became an 11-time Emmy winner, and they sold it to Netflix in 2019.

Today Gregg is CEO and co-founder of Spiridellis Bros. Studios, an artist-first, AI-enabled studio he runs with Evan. It brings back the world-class talent from the JibJab and StoryBots years and gives them generative media tools as creative superpowers. They call AI "a new plane for creation." Gregg is also building a journaling app that uses AI in an anonymous, secure space to help people find insights and improve their lives.
